Rebecca B. Scott
Becki is a lecturer in forensic science at Teesside University.
Prior to this she was an analytical geochemist in the Analytical Services Laboratory at the University of Greenwich.

She has a BA in Archaeology, MA in Cultural Landscape Management, MSc in Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology and PhD in Archaeological and Forensic Glass Analysis. Becki was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium, where she worked on the ERC ARCHGLASS project analysing the effects of recycling on Roman glass compositions. During this time, she developed an interest and expertise in the use of portable X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (pXRF) for the non-destructive analysis of archaeo-materials. She then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Leiden University, The Netherlands. She worked on both the HERA CARIB project, and the NWO Island Networks project. As part of her research she developed a method of using pXRF to analyse archaeological ceramic material in the field.

Becki has also worked on a number of small projects for museums, archaeological units, and heritage institutions using pXRF to analyse the chemical composition and provenance of various archaeo-materials.
