It's a hard life...
...with the help of Cleo (our extremely generous host), and the local boys, last night, we hosted a moonlight dance party. It was so much fun, all in the open air, under the light of the full moon. We had a vibrant mix of popular Grenadian hits, the Latin music favoured by some of the team, and European hits. Everyone was dancing and having fun. I am slowly learning to shake my hips Grenadian style, although I think it will be a long time before I get it right.
However, this morning we were all bright, breezy and ready for work at 0700 (ish). I think the large mug of coffee helped! Most of the team spent the morning cleaning up the main site, making sure all the loose soil and debris had been removed. They were trying to locate the post holes of archaeological structures. This is where you search for a dark, circular patch on the ground. The plan is to half-section (excavate half of) each potential post hole next week. (Every white tag in the photo is a potential post hole which needs to be investigated).

This afternoon, the whole team went field walking to survey for potential new sites.
This involved searching for clusters of diagnostic ceramics, some of which, conveniently for us, were located along the shoreline. I can honestly say, I could get used to working like this. Tomorrow we have another day off, then it's back to the grind for week three...
